When I grab the throttle hard from idle my engine stalls. I have to get on it kind of easy and sometimes have to feather it a little to get it going. Once it is 1/4 to 1/2 throttle I am fine.

It starts pretty easy but wants the choke sometimes even when a little warm.

This motor is bone stock except a Marsh Mellow and I just put it on. It has always acted like this (49 hrs) but I have been too busy messing with the hulls to fix it. Now that hull #2 is about right it is starting to P me off.

I am sure it is something simple and I will feel stupid when ya'll tell me whats wrong but I have never been that good with motors so how bout some help.

What are you idling at? Mine died a few times Sunday but it was the cold... I turned up my idle a quarter of a turn and didn't have an issue the rest of the day. Maybe try that? I'm no expert though

It does not die at idle, only when I grab the throttle hard.

Also, I have a long no wake zone to go thru on the way to my camp. I am already going too fast at idle, so I can't turn it up.

In neutral it idles about 1200.

You should be able to turn it down to 1100.

Try adjusting the idle air mix screws on the top of the carb- CCW will open it up more and there is one for each side. This may give you more fuel to bridge until your main jets kick in.

There are arms on the black caps restricting the movement within a specific range and you may need to cut off the arms and go up a little more. There is no harm in doing this.

Thanks, I knew it had to be simple.

Two thumbs up for the dremel, man that was easy.

On the trailer, it acts fixed. I will run tomorrow or Thursday and see about in the mud.

I was wrong about my idle, it is 1070.

can someone post a pic to help me out. Mine does the same thing. I have to feather the throttle or it dies.

No picture required.

Take the air cleaner cover and base plate off. You can't miss the two black plastic screws.

By the way, it works in the mud too, but I need a little moore idle speed.
