Re: EFI PERFORMANCE -----Sneak Peek
So if you already have the efi you have to use bps products to compliment the programmer? I guess they aren't selling just the programmer without their mods.

Re: EFI PERFORMANCE -----Sneak Peek
I'll sell it separate, but the mods must be very close to the same recipe as our kits. If not the fuel map will be too far off for correct AFR

Yes I have. Speeds.... no, I won't advertise speeds. I will however show dyno results for the 3 levels compared to stock.
stay tuned guys, I am finishing up a few last details. Packaging, instructions, etc.

efi motors in oems and now dyno numbers to go along with it, looks like stopthetalk should be obsolete on this site now.

Re: EFI PERFORMANCE -----Sneak Peek
Will be interesting to see dyno numbers.
Although a new EFI system coupled with a new tuning system and afermarket parts seems like stacking potential issues. I don't want to jeapordize my warranty until both systems are solid.

I am confused.
Is this a tuning system for the Briggs EFI or a whole system?

All it does is adjust the fuel flow. The digital form of changing jets so to speak...

Nahh, I doubt it, the governor in the Kawi is in the throttle controller itself.

Hell yes! This is awesome, don't take us to the cleaners with the money, we've already spent 9k on slow EFI motors. We need help!

Re: EFI PERFORMANCE -----Sneak Peek
Shouldn't there be a heavy flow aircleaner as part of these kits? 1st step on harley's is always air cleaner exhaust and tune, and it makes a huge difference for not a whole lot of money.

Re: EFI PERFORMANCE -----Sneak Peek
If I'm turning say 30% more HP on a PD, I'm going to need a new prop, correct? PD doesn't make a range a props for increased HP, so where would I be able to find a prop for an higher HP Pro-drive. If you have a modded carbed PD engine gen III, did you get a new prop to support this HP increase?

Re: EFI PERFORMANCE -----Sneak Peek
I confess ignorance of the EFI for the most part; will this system make carbs obsolete? I wonder if the EFI system will trickle down to the lower HP motors? I'm planning on upgrading to a 35/37 EFI LT in the future- conditions here make a SD more a liability than a gain- just wondering, I guess there are comparisons to the 2 cycle/ 4 cycle conventional outboard changes. I welcome the EFI if it means less issues like a carb/jets gumming up, and/or other ethanol related problems. Thank you!

Re: EFI PERFORMANCE -----Sneak Peek
My opinion on EFI from Briggs is this. A lot of motors have been sold so far. Some issues have presented themselves and are being worked through. I am hoping they have a solid performer withs most bugs worked out by this time next year.
The one issue that really bothers me is the possibility of frying the ECM from loose/ bad battery connections. It seems like Briggs needs to come up with some type of spark/surge protector to prevent this from happening.
I am trying to keep up with everything as it progresses. At the present time, I believe the ecotrons EFI is the best option if you are able to set it up yourself. It is cost prohibitive, but prodrive seems to have made a pretty good system out of it.

Re: EFI PERFORMANCE -----Sneak Peek
Will, which companies do you recommend for a new splined prop suitable for the PD gen III?

Re: EFI PERFORMANCE -----Sneak Peek
You wouldn't get a new splined prop, you'd send your old, or new, stock prop in to have it worked. Hopkins, baggy, etc...

Re: EFI PERFORMANCE -----Sneak Peek
/\ This.
Also, IF I had the splined shaft, I'd try to find an outboard prop to try for running open water, but that's just me... note, it has to be a lefty...
