what compression should i be getting on a on a 35 briggs ,, i ran a compression test both cylinders had 165. passed leak down with flying colors
but.......the plugs did look wet

Really depends on the tool you are using, how often it was calibrated, how the test was done (open throttle) etc....

Most will tell you to ensure both sides are within 10% of each other. If yours are even on both sides using the same meathod on each then it you should be good.

yeah I usually run the fuel out of the carb. pull the kill switch and check it at WOT.

165 is actually a little high for a stock motor. Not an issue at all though.

what is it usally on a stocker ?
that is the promblem with this motor the gut i bought it from bought it off a R&D guy from briggs and he doesnt know whats in it .I knoe it has roller rockers I can see that thru the oil fill . so im asumming it has a little work
it actually has a sticker on iut saying this motor is for research and testing and is not to be sold to consumer
so i think these guys probably build a hot little motor and then back door it or buy it for cost , going to pull it apart this spring to see whats it got for internals

135 - 145 if I remember correctly on a stock.
