Semi new to the site and very new to mud motors, found a 19hp Kawasaki motor in the trash the other day, no clue if it runs or not but was wondering if anyone runs one of these motors for their mud motor. Also wondering if I wanted to upgrade the motor ( if it runs) where do y'all get your performance parts from? Thanks in advance |

There aren't any for the kawa. Been down that road (not specifically with that model, but in general). You can go with an aftermarket carb, and gut the exhaust, but nothing specific beyond that. Cam will be an experiment, as well as how much decking for compression increase. You likely won't get enough gain from it to make it worth the expense, but pm if you want to learn from what I did with the kawa I had. |

Exactly what Russ mentioned. During our Kawasaki build for the Prodrives, we had 5 guys working on different shit to try and come to a common ground. Nothing was store bought. Everything had to be custom made. If you have the time and the $$ to spend on R&D and trail and error, I say go for it. if not, like he mentioned, its a crap shoot. |
