I have a 2013 25 GTR. It just recently started backfiring/missing when running. Does it more so when running at high RPMs. Anyone have this problem before? I was making a long run with a load when it started happening.

Mine did that a few months ago. My issue was I didn't run ethanol treatment in my gas and the fuel return line from the throttle body collapsed. I finally found it, but it didn't resolve the entire issue. Since the extra fuel had no where to go, it backed up into my oil, and fouled out one of my coils. Took me a long time to troubleshoot this because the coil would run fine on idle but intermittently foul while running.

I would recommend checking the following items:
1. Check oil level and smell for gasoline.
2. disconnect fuel return line and run into a container, block the opening in your tee(a lot of gas should flow into container while running)
3. Check fire from each spark plug. (my money is on this being your issue)

Mine was all three, but maybe yours will be easier. Hope this helps!

Thanks man! A buddy of mine actually said it sounded like a coil too, but I didn't trust him. I'll take a look at it this week and see what I come up with. It sounds like what I have though. I replaced the spark plugs at the end of the season but I will check and see if they are fouled along with the other things. How much was the coil replacement?

I want to say my mechanic said $100 or so, but I claimed it on warranty.

I had to replace one, and got it for around 80 from Jacks small engines.

Yeah I love Jack's that's where I order all my maintenance parts.
