Last week I took my boat out and it ran perfectly fine. Two days later if the engine is running and in gear the trim doesn't work and the key won't turn it off. If it's running and in gear trim up kills the motor and when it's running the key will shock the piss outta me and the kill switch won't kill the motor. And when the motor is off the trim works fine. I figure the trim and kill switch problem are probably from the control box getting wet. But from my limited electrical experience the only way I should be getting shocked from my key would be back feed from my spark plugs. None of this makes allot of sense to me any help and input would be appreciated.

Unless you take it apart and look for the issue, Its not going to be diagnosed on the internet. Id say you have some chafed wires and you need to find them.

Or a wet splice point or connection box shorting everything together.

A broke ground can cause some weird stuff. Like maxxis85 said you need to take it apart and look at all of your wiring. But I'm with ya on the shock coming from the coils. Make sure to post up what you find
