 Re: 67hp?
67hp at 500+ lbs dry weight. A lot of weight for 67 hp and 130ish ft lbs of torque.

 Re: 67hp?
Wouldn't that weigh less than dual rig Briggs engines? Or close to it

 Re: 67hp?
No, nor would it provide more, or even equal power. 300 lbs extra, give or take, for a second frame and engine for duals. This engine alone adds 350+. Not to mention any beefing of the frame, mount, transom, and the trouble of R&D on the gear and prop changes. And, unless I'm looking at the wrong engine, it costs approximately 12 grand or so....
You all know I, more than most, am for something besides the Briggs. Lol Unfortunately, this one isn't quite gonna be it.

 67hp?
Maybe I wasn't clear. GT website says a 37 is 275lbs. Obviously 2 of those would be 500+... Which would compare to what Russ mentioned, that the 67 is 500+.. And I do realize you still gotta have a frame so yeah it'd be a lot of weight , still don't think it would be a huge difference...
Also this comment doesn't matter unless cbs comment was towards me.. Wanted to defend myself lol

 Re: 67hp?
130ish for the frame, 140ish for the engine. 600lbs total for rigged duals. A single with this engine: 500 plus for the engine, 130ish for the frame, another 25 or so to beef up the mounting plate. Already you're heavier. Factor in a single prop providing thrust instead of two, and slightly less power than 2 engines. This engine costs more than twice as much as 2 Briggs would, for slightly less combined power. To get more power out of it, no telling what the expense would be. If we're only talking weight vs duals and power of each, they're kinda close, ok. But you have to figure in getting that power to actually push the boat. I don't think a single prop, regardless of it being pitched up and cupped appropriately, would do as good of a job. As a single engine, the power output is excellent, but the weight makes it a poor choice, and cost compounds that, even if attempting to replace duals.

 Re: 67hp?
No, not dual frames. Just dual engines on a single frame. No clue what brand frame.

 Re: 67hp?
Mudbudddy used to have some thing that had the motors one in front of the other. GD had something with two frames connected. I think I may have seen something with two engines side by side on the same frame at some point too.

 Re: 67hp?
GoDevil used to and (I believe) still does sell twin longtail setups. Most common were the 18's and 23's I believe. Apparently they had tons of torque and were preferred over a single big block at the time. Two engines, two frames, two props, on one common transom mount and tiller. I've never ran one of those setups but I damn sure would like to!

It's fun for a few minutes, and got us out of a helluva boat drag when the water dropped more than we thought it was going to.

 Re: 67hp?
I saw that myself... On a 2456 GD hull I believe. Id love to have a dual 37 GDSD tiller setup on a 2260 GDSD hull. Pipe dreams
