Should my fuel pump be running every time I turn the key? Lately I've been running good and the engine will kill and I have to squeeze the ball pump real hard to get it to crank. I changed filters and all of that but I just noticed when it kills and I go to crank back up, I don't hear the pump kick on. Could my fuel pump possibly be going out?

Yes, the wiring harness was recently changed though. I checked the wires again looks good

I had a broken fuse making intermittent contact inside the relay box under the air filter box. Check the 20 amp fuse in there and make sure the prongs are tight on the relays. Also put a zip tie around the relay box to make sure everything stays connected together tight. Just pull the front cover, its right there on the left side

All the fuses are connected and still nothing. There's gas in both filters are full.

I'm bringing it to the shop tomorrow. Thinking about bringing it to a Briggs service center. But it's the third time it's left me stranded on the water, twice with fuel problems so I'm thinking about maybe making a long trip to gator tail make sure it's fixed right and possibly see if they'll swap it for a carbed engine lol

It's a tried and true system. No one is having issues with it. Efi has been around a long time.

Giga, don't disagree. I just remember the bandwagon when the Briggs efi was announced. Everyone forgot it was Briggs for a while. Now the bandwagoneers either don't have efi yet, have the pd application, or are having the same issues everyone else is with the Briggs version.

Right now, yes. I think Briggs released an 85% complete system. There are bugs they could've worked out with some time and thoughts, but decided to let warranty claims drive that debugging. I don't mind being a guinea pig for my own or friends' projects, but not from a company that claims it all works fine and expects me to pay full price for their engine. If I was buying new, and was set on a Briggs (which I'll a avoid when possible lol), I'd go carb or pd's efi system.

I have a 2017 37efi gatortail when I turn the key on I hear a fuel pump run and then it goes off! When I first put it on the water it idles real low and will die at idle going forward to reverse or just in forward sometimes! I notice at first the filter isn't staying full of fuel and the engine light flashes when the rpm get low and then once the rpm are back up the light goes away! After I run the boat for 30 mins or so it seem to all go away and idle around 1100-1250! Could one of the pumps be bad?

Get rid of all your quick connects and make sure your tank is vented.
Im sure the quick connects aren't affecting it, but they are shit anyway and the slightest air leak will give you fits.

Marcus is sharp with the EFI engines, he should chime in soon to help.

Okay I will do that? Do yall replace the tank or can I unscrew the fitting where the quick connect is and get a regular barb fitting that comes off there for the hose to go on? Sorry I'm pretty new with these motors.

Okay I will look for a barb fitting to replace this quick connect and I believe the previous owner did that cause on the bottom side of cap I don't see a ball and it's been cut on!

Yes it is but there almost 8 hours from me and if it is something simple I would like to do it myself and maybe learn something!

CEL flashing when idle is too low.. That's triggering a P0036 code. Basically the motor is idling too low and causing the CPS to miss count where the Crank is. Then you get it dying out.. Long cranking to start only amplifies the issue.
Fuel pump will kick on then off after 3 seconds if the pumps reach target Rail pressure. Once it enters cranking mode 350+ RPM the motor will start and then take off running at a higher idle until its settles down and runs good.
Take it to a Service center and have it checked out under warranty.

Just an update! Motor is running excellent and the light doesn't come on anymore! I just pump the bulb till it's hard when I first start the boat and everything is running great! Got new fuel filters and tighten up all my hose clamps and did away with the quick connect on the tank! Think the boat just had been sitting awhile and had some bad gas in it!
