 Copperhead 23hp vs. Go Devil SD 23hp Looking into these two and just trying to see which one is better.
Not very experienced when it comes to surface drives, all i've had is longtails.
Looking to put it on a 1548 or 1648.

Re: Copperhead 23hp vs. Go Devil SD 23hp If you can get a 1648 just go ahead and get a 35. Im a GD fan just for how solid they are. The 23 will work if you keep the load very light, most folks end up needing a bigger motor pretty quick

Get a 35 if you can but if not you can run a 23 for a year then you will end up getting a 35.
Well worth the money!

Re: Copperhead 23hp vs. Go Devil SD 23hp X'2 in what everyone is saying I have the copperhead 23hp and it was neat 5 grand also then it's not enough then you wanna mod it and boom 1500 and now you pay 6500 for a little more power, you really want to get the 35hp

Re: Copperhead 23hp vs. Go Devil SD 23hp Check the frames out, and see if they could be modified to accept a BB Briggs. If so you could be running your rig with a 23, and down the road if more power is needed you might be able to swap out motors should you find a 35 block. Been there done that on a 18 hp Hyper frame to a BB Briggs.
