Debating buying a Copperhead 23 here pretty soon and I'm having a hard time finding any quality reviews of this engine. Most people automatically tell the poster that they should forget the small block and try and get a larger engine. If any owners or prior owners of a copperhead 23 could give me some feedback about the engine and their direct experience with it I would appreciate it.

I can't offer any input but I plan to get one as well as my boat is only rated for 25hp...

I routinely hunt the same area as a guy who has a 23 Copperhead. He has it on a Go Devil boat. I know that with 2 guys, a dog, and hunt gear - he would out run me last year, and I was moving about 20/21.

I also know that same fucker sunk his boat in the refugee as I was following him. I gave him my bilge pump and asked him to leave it at a certain spot. Gave him my business card too. Never called me, never got my pump back. Maybe he's on here reading this.

He always claimed to like the motor though.

Good light weight frames and good people. If i were to do it again i would look harder at mudbuddy 23 mini because of the neutral option. It may also have a quicker trim system but im not sure. People say the copperheads are faster and they certainly have good customer service from my experience.
