GTR 25 hp big block 898cc is out. Is this just a de-tuned 35 or are there actual differences in the build. Anyone know of someone running one? |

You can look at the motor on Briggs website. I've been able to confirm its the same block / platform. The bore is the same. The 25 has a shorter stroke. I'll probably buy one when the engine is available to purchase and see about turning it into a 35. I've called a few places and they can't get it yet. 25 Vanguard 35 Vanguard |

I've never been checked, but if they were really concerned with it...they would probably check the model number or serial number stamped on the block? |

So what you're saying is when the 25s are available to buy...it may be cheaper to buy a 35 and order some 25 valve covers? |

Even if they are stamped, most people don't register their motor anyway. Mine isn't registered. Ultimately it boils down to your word against the warden's word and how far they want to take it. |
