Ok guys I have a 2015 35gtr with 52hrs on it. Took it out last night to do some fishing. I started it up on the trailer and let it run for about about 5mins while I got everything in the boat ready to go. While unloading the boat it cut off and I couldn't get it started again. It would crank all day but wouldn't turn over. I choked it and it fired right up but as soon as I pushed the choke in it shut off. Im not very familiar with the b&s engines but Im thinking the carb might need to be cleaned. Has this happened to anyone else and how'd you fix it?

Does it run when you squeeze the throttle past 1/4 to get it off the idle curcuit?

You didn't accidentally pull the kill switch[SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND TIGHTLY-CLOSED EYES]

Sounds silly but it has happened.

I've sat on the water checking valve lash, fuel pump, etc for about 20 minutes only for brandon to point out the kill switch. Yes, it happens.
But since it runs when choked, that's not the problem.

No not the kill switch. Russ it won't run at all unless it's choked. As soon as you push the choke back in it's like you hit the kill switch.

Clean the carb sounds like your pilot jet is clogged up

Or some water in the gas?
Maybe there was good gas in the line, and when you cranked it, it ran fine, and then got some bad gas in there after idling for a while?

I would start by cleaning the carb. There's probably a partial blockage cutting of most of the fuel.

Ok guys I finally got a day off work to try and get this straightened out. Turns out I somehow got a little water into the carb, I got it cleaned up and she's back to running as it should.
