does every mud boat have this issue or just me
3 man hide with a stock 35 mud buddy, had it out for a ride yesterday, lot of fun , put 3 hrs on the clock running all over
at low rpm the prop really digs in , moves the boat instantly, prop seems to cavitate, catch some air as I power up
then settles into a cruise at around 3200rpm
not a big issue, just seems like the prop looses it's forward push at mid speeds,
no issues in the mud, just water, is this just an issue with pushing a wide boat, or do you think the prop may be worn

Not really sure what you're asking. Are you trimming up as you come on plane? Was 3200 the max rpm?

Those boats are heavy. And you should be turning more rpms than that. Is that Wide open Throttle? You should also be throwing a rooster tail. If not, you aren't trimmed up enough, which is the reason for your low rpms.

Measure your prop. May be worn, but these things don't perform like an outboard.

Mine did the same thing a few years ago. New prop helped a little, but the thing that basically cured the problem was new, worked, heads. My motor was only a couple years old when my heads started to leak, after I replaced, the difference was astronomical... Might as well do a mikuni at the same time, you will be very happy turning RPMs in the 4000s...
