Hey guys, I was stranded for a while after picking up from our early goose opener. Motor ran fine, died out, and would start and only run for a couple seconds and die. Finally unplugged the the wire that comes out of the handle for the kill switch and it ran just fine. I got it home and tried cutting the wire back and putting a new connector on it. Started it up after and it ran fine, so i took it out for a ride. Just got up on plane and it died again. Cut the wire off and it ran fine cruising around for a half hour. I want to get it fixed because I don't like running with a disabled kill switch and an essentially disabled rev limiter (because it connects to that wire). Has anyone seen this? Should I replace the kill switch and pull a new wire? Thanks in advance!

Have you tried just disconnecting the rev limiter without disconnecting the kill switch? If you have a dmm with a continuity tester you can test that kill switch, or just hit academy and buy a new one so you can rule that out as the problem.

Ive seen more rev limiter failures than kill switches...Do like CB said disconnect the limiter and se how it reacts.

The first thing I did while I was stranded was cut the green wire on the rev limiter and it didn't change anything for me. Do I open up the handle end to access the bottom of the kill switch to run the continuity test?

You have a one kill wire cut that's going to ground and causing your issue. Ive seen a lot of chaffing where the football meets the handle in that area.

It was rubbing on the screw head just inside the handle. Taped the wire up, stuffed some paper towels in to block the screw head and it's good to go!
