 2008 mud buddy trailer pin
does anyone have an older mud buddy with a push in trailer pin? I have one and with multiple straps holding the motor down on the pin , it still manages to work it's way loose bouncing around on the road the pin wiggles out and motor will drop when fully disengaged
I see the newer motors have pin that locks it in place, this motor has not room for a pin,
anyone have any luck with a better idea ?

Maybe you can make something like this? It'll lock it into place.

Re: 2008 mud buddy trailer pin
I have a 2007 model and had the same issue. I ended up drilling a hole and using a hitch pin just like the picture and now it works great.

Re: 2008 mud buddy trailer pin
where did you drill a hole? the round hand grab knob fits flush against the side of the housing, there is no kind of extension off the side of the motor, to drill a hole thru.
or did you drill the pin inside some how, don't see how I could get to it,
I guess I could weld on a metal tab, and then pair drill them to fit a pin thru. the trailer pin

Ahh. You'll have to take the concept and get creative since the collar isn't part of yours.

Weld a hinged "L" to the frame that flips out and sits against the ball. Use a zip tie, velcro strap, or rubber band that keeps the "L" from moving. It'll keep that pin from backing out.

I drilled through the outer collar and thru the pin at the same time. Get a carbide tipped drill bit and go easy with it using lots of cutting oil. Do not force it or you will end up breaking the bit off.
