Kohler command pro 23.5 starting issues after sitting
Kinda long so bear with me Last year, got a new motor for my go devil. Only use rec fuel. When season was over I ran all gas out of engine. About 3 months later, went to start it up and would not start Dribbles some gas into carb and it would run and then die when that gas was gone. So I pulled the shut off solenoid and reinstalled and it ran fine.
So after running it for a while, to store it, I mixed some gas w some fogger and ran the engine on that for a while until gone, thinking that the fogger might help not get into that same scenario. Fast forward a couple months, pull it out and wont start. dribble some gas into carb and it runs and of course stops when that is gone. So pull the solenoid again, drain gas that I had pumped into it and it starts but runs crappy. Took a while to get it to run good.. So couple questions.. 1. looks like using the fogger into the carb was a bad idea...maybe gummed up the jets. 2. Anyone have any thoughts on a general solution with these motors other than don't let them sit as long without running
Thanks,
