I know they had some cheap/free things to do on the old site to pick up a few RPM etc. I think I remember ty-wraping the govenor spring etc. I just stepped up to a real engine, and not ready to go internal yet (decking heads, carb, intake etc. Looking for a few free, or almost free things I can do to gain another MPH hopefully (or 2) would love to see 35 on an otherwise stock setup until finances allow for a stage one |

Cut the intake plate, K&N air filter, thin the stock carb shafts and replace the big head screws on the throttle and choke plates with button heads (locktight them). Trim the fan and get rid of the HW holding the debris screen. Bore out your stock intake to mate with the heads and smooth out the inside. You need a high flow exhaust to take advantage of any increased air flow. Tie wrapping the gov spring doesn't give you any more RPM- it just lets you adjust the motor for higher RPM if the engine produces it. If the Gov was holding you back in the first place either turn it up or replace with a larger spring. You get your first input 10 posts in. |

I say, do your heads (200-400) depending on who does it, gut your stock exhaust(free you weld) and advance your timing(cheap), wont be the speed demon but you'll gain alot of load ability. then drop a cam(300) in it, rev limiter(not to bad), and intake if you wanna go down the road of the muniki carb ![]() |
