Figured out reason for slow 37efi with low RPMS finally
Finally! I'm glad I'm not a crazy person. Had to send motor back down to PD as it wouldn't get above 4k rpms under light load. I had the valve covers off previously and mentioned that #2 cylinder lifter was not rising as much as the other lifters. As soon as KP got motor hooked up in water he heard the sound I've been referring to and saw the lifter issue. Turns out the cam lobe profile was bad (ground off, chipped, or something) and was preventing the intake valve from opening all the way which resulted in the lack of power. Anyway fingers crossed, should replace the engine bc they won't be able to get all of that metal out down there.

All sorted out now, boats running 28-29 with me cooler dog and normal fishing gear. Just have a worked prop and voodoo, happy with the end results.
