Post Decked Heads vs Cylinder Pressure
Trying to find an example of what every .010" of decking equals in cylinder pressure. For example decking/removing 0.010" will increase cylinder pressure 6 psi. Anyone have any before and after pressures?

Too many variables to say what it will be. Briggs has a wide range of tolerances so it is not consistent. Some stock motors have 120 PSI of cranking compression, some have 130 PSI. It is a moot point.

Even still the cylinder volume will be getting smaller. I'm not looking for the total pressure number just the amount of pressure that will be gained by every 0.010" taken off of the heads. If that makes sense? I'm trying to figure out how muck decking it will take to raise my personal cylinder pressure 35 psi.

As he said lots of variables, but I would guess you are looking for about a .040 chop with a stock cam

To add an example. I've got a cam and .025 chop and sit at 165

Gauge variables will also apply.

From my experience .045" chop stock cam cranking is about 175 ish.. .065 shop is about 195-200 ish

Ok so if 0.045" produces 175 psi what was stock psi on that particular engine? 175 minus stock number divided by 4.5 would be the number I'm looking for? Any more clear?

Or I guess you could say 195-175 diivided by 2 would be 10 psi per 0.010". Thanks everybody.

It just depends on alot of factors. Good valve seal and ring seal to get good compression numbers.
