Hi guys, I have a brand new vanguard 23. Everytime I run it stalls like its fuel starving or somthing. It will idle fine but as soon as in gets above 3000 rmps just dies shortly after. The ball is hard and I even tried cracking the cap completly open for max venting which barely helped. Also is it normal to have to choke these motors everytime you start them? Im as new as it gets to mud motors and could use a hand. Please help its duck season haha

Does your fuel filter run dry or have air bubbles in it?

Yea it seems to run kinda dry even now that I figured it out. I was running that junk grey marine fuel line that has a plastic liner that collapsed inside the line. I replaced it with some 3/8 black sae-30r7 fuel line and its running great now. Thanks for tryna help though I appriciate it.

If you have a Sierra fuel filter/water separator take it off and look at it. Mine was completely rusted inside. Replaced with a Yamaha. Same threads, same housing. I change the Yamaha annually on the bay boat, never any issues. If you are running Sierra check it every few months.
If the oil level in the crankcase is too high the fuel pump won't work. Put a level on top of the air filter and check the dipstick. Get a small pitcher with measurements on it and use the GoDevil/B&S oil capacity spec when you do an oil change.
**Disregard...I see you got it.
