Tore down the motor my buddy got only to find this...Sheered off. Check out the metal shavings in the bottom. :shock:

How the hell does this even happen? Vanguard 35hp.

Mine broke the crank this year too. But it broke in the back at the journal. Had 235 hours on a 2011 55mag.

If it had a rev limiter, it would either have a yellow "chip" looking deal with 4750 or 5100 stamped on it, or a newer limiter will have a decal.

Damn, the crank broke. Maybe the block is still good but I would look at it close for cracks.

Yeah. If it was a 7000 pry had to much compression. Pry had 200+. That's what mine had when she went. Got a new block crank rods and Pistons upgraded to CDI with 4700 coils and she's runnin hard again now. Less compression now too. Bout 185-190. Don't have decked heads anymore but it has bps rods and Pistons still.

7000 had around 240 with that year model. Closer to 220 or so with some of the later models, I believe.
