I believe my fuel pump is bad on my mud buddy. If I continue to pump the ball, she runs perfectly, but once I stop, the engine eventually chokes out.

I believe it is a mechanical pump and I got a quote from BPS for $75 which seems pretty steep for a mechanical pump.

Can I get the same part at a lawn mower store cheaper or is this a realistic cost - I could care less if it is camo.

Also, do any of you have any ideas of it being something other than the fuel pump?

Disconnect the side of the hose that is connected to the carb from the fuel pump, and then crank your motor and see if it pumps fuel out of the hose. If it does, then your fuel pump is probably okay.

Do you notice air bubbles in your fuel filter?
I would make sure you don't have a leak somewhere in your fuel line before going straight to fuel pump.

Btw. U need to verify which pump you have. The mechanical pump is well over 100$

Starting to think this is the wrong rig for a non-mechanical guy

Thanks for the feedback, I checked for air in the filter and sure enough there were bubbles. Turns out the hose clamp was loose. In fact, all of the clamps from the primer up were loose.

I'm going to replace them and also the line to be safe.

Make sure you cut clean, square ends on your new lines before putting them together, snug the clamps good, don't over tighten.

Took the fuel line off and its the older line not designed for Ethonal. I only run Ethonal free but not sure with previous owner. Surprised a 2014 model would have not installed the newer fuel line
