 EFI starting time
I have a MB 37 EFI and I feel it takes a longer to start than it should. My fuel take is located up front under the deck. Is this a common problem with gas tanks located in the front of the boat? I understand the fuel pump may have to suck quite a bite before it is primed. It starts a little better but not much more after it has been running for awhile. Motor runs great and ideals fine so I am confident it has nothing to do with the fuel pump. This is my first mud motor so I have little experience with them or Mud buddy, but My buddys carbed pro drive fires right up as soon as the key is turned over. I went from a carbed mercury 3 cylinder 2 stoke that would fire by just looking at the key once the primer ball was firm.

 Re: EFI starting time
Why not try turning on the key and allowing the lift pump time to prime before cranking? That's how I've always done mine and it starts every time in just a couple revolutions. When it's warm, even faster. Takes maybe a second or so for the pump to prime. Easy.

 Re: EFI starting time
It has to turn over at least twice for the ECU to decide when to fire. How many revolutions does it turn before it starts?

 Re: EFI starting time
Try disconnecting the low oil pressure sending unit.. See if it starts any better...

 Re: EFI starting time
Stu is correct. I would start simple and check all your fuel line connections from the filter at the lift pump to the tank.

 Re: EFI starting time
I believe mine starts quicker if it let it prime up and stop before turning it over. After that maybe 3-4 revolutions to start. Once hot, starting seems almost instantaneous.

 Re: EFI starting time
It is always good to allow the rail to prime before cranking the engine. It only take 2 seconds.
