 Need help on engine quitting
Vanguaard 23 longtail runs fine slowly then after 5 minutes or so of high speed it craps out. Able to restart and run slowly roughly but as soon as I try to speed up Gone Again. Thought it might be a fuel problem as it seemed to run a little faster with partial choke on, enough to get back to the launch and then at home it ran like a champ for 1/2 hour. Changed fuel filter, no change in performance.
Upper bearing on shaft seems to be heating up but maybe it did before I never checked it.
Thoughts?

Check, check and double check all fuel line connections, sounds like it's sucking in air in the line somewhere. They have to be completely sealed and tight. If you have a quick disconnect, take it out and use a hose clamp. Try again.

On that bearing if its to hot to touch and hold, check your shaft alignment. If your sucking air on your fuel line you should be able to pump primer bulb and it will run good for a little while, pump it if it lines out then craps out again until pumping it again - sucking air somewhere. also disconnect output side of fuel pump check for fuel "pulsing" out strongly, not a trickle. I had 16hp GDLT it ran something like that I found fuel line leak and also the air filter was pretty bad from taking saltwater spray down in Redfish Bay. Had to correct both to get her running good again.

Re: Need help on engine quitting
Hey guys thanks, I found a hose that was slightly out of round at the fuel pump, cut 1/2 inch off and went on the same trip today without incident except it was blowing and snowing and cold ugly with no ducks. BTW the bearing was just overly warm but probably not a problem but I will watch it. Thanks again.
