Has anyone fabbed an engine gaurd for a GTR with twin Mikuni carbs. I have knocked them of several times in the timber even with zip ties to secure them. The one guard I fabbed attached to the flywheel covers and top Of the power head but broke after one season. I'm considering attaching something to the boat to guide limbs over the motor.

You really ought to consider going single carb or efi, so it can be somewhat protected under a carb cover. Those two carbs sticking out front are going to be a chore to protect when there are limbs everywhere.
