Bought it used would not charge battery.With an meter the stator only put out 13volt a/c its requires 25-40 volt a/c.

Ordered a new stator and voltage regulator.
Removed flywheel to change stator and found all magnets broke and unglued.
Luckily I kept magnets from some early 1980's kohler.Re glued in correct order,installed new stator and 3600 rpm produces 44 volt a/c current.
With my black lead on negitive terminal on battery and red lead on the B+ terminal of voltage regulator It reads -3 volts d/c.
I looked at several kohler wiring diagrams and my harness is not connected like others show.Kohler harness for mowers show the b+ connecting to key switch/wire for fuel soloniod.
When I done that my meter read 21 volt d/c going to batter.
Currently the b+ wire is hooked up to the positive battery lead on starter solonoid,Hooked up this way the battery gets a half volt charge increase.

I dont remember what I did but I was able to get 14 volts from b+ wire but it was reading -14 volts as if I had my meter leads backwards

I emailed GoDevil but it is the holidays.
Does anyone have experince with this wiring or has a proper diagram?

Do you have a ground wire from the regulator screw to and engine mount bolt?

Yes it has the ground wire and I went as far as mounting the regulator directly to grounded metal shroud.
A member here just sent me a wiring diagram.Im at work now but my B+ wire is routed to the start solonoid as the diagram indicates.

When I wire B+ like GoDevil states I get 21 volts dc to battery.
Wired like Kohler states I get -3 volt,however it does charge battery a lil.
I still have to wait until I get time to completly trace harness.
