Post 27 hp PD opinion
I was thinking about trying to get some more power out of my engine but dont really want to put alot into it. I have a 27hp Kohler prodrive. I already need a new muffler so I was planning on getting the MM stainless exhaust. Ive also been kicking around the idea of doing a carb kit. I dont know much about engines and was wondering a couple things about doing a new carb. First is the mikuni your best bet or is there anything that might be cheaper, like can you modify your stock carb. Also does the PD need the rev limiter? And why is the carb kit so expensive, why cant I just buy the mikuni carb?

Also I wanted to get an aftermarket air filter and was wondering which one would be best for this motor? If I didnt end up doing the carb would the air filter and muffler give me any noticable gains?

What would yall do? Thanks for any help.

The Kohler is a great motor just very limited on the performance parts that are available. The market is starting to open up but the availability is still hard to come by.
