Hey y'all , im new to this forum looking to see if anyone has ever put a 35hp vanguard on 23hp MB SD frame. |

I just did it a couple months ago. The problem I ran into was the base plate the motor sits on. The bolt holes on the 35 didn't line up on the plate for the 23. Could've drilled new holes and lived with 3 bolts holding the engine down but didn't wanna nagger rig it. I went ahead and bought a new base plate from bps($300) and it bolted right up. Also the clutch on my 23 had a 34 tooth upper pulley and bps recommends 38 top. So I grabbed a 38 clutch assembly from BoatDr($290). U'll obv need a bigger prop as well($275 big blade). So yeah it'll cost some $ but can be done |
