Here's how you boys can keep your throttle cables from freezing up. Take a hyperdermic needle and fill it with anti freeze. Then shoot as much as will go into your throttle cable from the handle part of your throttle. Treat your cable once a year and you'll always be good to go. Its not the cable that's freezing. Just the moisture that collects in it. |

Should we disconnect the throttle cable and turn it vertically so the fluid can run down the throttle cable? |

i figured there should be enough downward slope on the cable it would flow...just put it in till it fills up |

get as much downward flow down the cable as possible, but wouldnt think youde need to disconnect the cable (i didnt). brooks...shoot as much antifreeze in that sucker as you can. and dont worry bout spillin it. just a little extra for the neighborhood cats to take care of. ![]() |

My cable froze saturday morning.. Got her freed then went hunting.. Remembered dis thread and used a cajun injecter and some Anti freez. I took the cable off the back of the carb and raised my handle where both ends were facing up. put a lil bit and work the cable back and forth. It takes a while cause my needle was too big , but it got the job done and my cable didnt freeze the next morning. |

Mine was frozen Sat too, so I went to look for some anti-freeze nd every swinging d*ck in the area bought all the anti-freeze( b?c they put water in their radiators all the time, etc>>>) so I had some subzero washer fluid with the deicer in it and that worked out great too. |

I just drove around yesterday with mine freezing then thaw then refreeze. Kind of fun to never know if you can throttle up or down. |
