Post subject:  Exhaust, as it pertains to warranty

I'm sure it's been asked but I searched and couldn't quite find, in words, what I was looking for... so here it goes. The Briggs warranty states that it will not cover engine damage from "parts that are not original B&S parts" ...

Okay...

So say a guy wanted to put an exhaust system on, or even gut a stocker, is there grounds for the argument that the exhaust couldn't really have any hand in engine damages? Unless something broke off from inside the exhaust system and fell into the engine, I don't see how exhaust could be a factor in any failure engine wise. And furthermore, I don't see why exhaust would automatically void warranty.

Just curious!
