 What to do??
Hey guys replacing my crankcase gasket on my GTR35 after 10 hours. Wondering what to do to prevent this? I've got a single Mikuni and MarshMellow exhaust, do either of these mods make it more likely to leak?? My old motor was a GT35 with same mods and the gasket let go at 215 hours but the prop was wore and became unbalanced. Which lead to a vibration and I'm told that's likely what took out the gasket. Anyway long story short how common is this? What to do to prevent it? Anything I can do when replacing it to make it last? Thanks in advance.

Call Delta Performance for the fix. No gasket is even involved.

 Re: What to do??
We've replace 4 crankcase gaskets, for ours and friends motors. Pretty common on Briggs BB Vans. If you do the replacement your self I would recommend installing the bushings that BPS offers. Think they help keep crankcase from shifting and wearing out gasket. We also go one step further and install studs in block and use locking nuts. We torque everything to specs. and index mark the bolts, so its easier to keep track of them should they loosen. We use red Locktite on block studs. Havn't seen any of them leak after this install.

 Re: What to do??
I've got a 2011 35hp GTR, the only time my case gasket leaked, I used my calibrated arm and carefully checked the bolts. Yes where it was leaking bolts on either side were "loose". "Snugged" them about a half turn to the feel of the ones that weren't loose. 200 hrs. later and no leaks other than it looks "wet" in that area after a hard run. So far never had to add oil(Royal Purple HPS 10w-40) between changes. Btw were the muffler is using the case bolts is were the problem was.

 Re: What to do??
I need a new rear case too. Mine cracked after I rebuilt the engine last year. Well I used my old case on a new block so I kinda knew it was gonna break. I went to the bps website and I don't see the bushing kit you're talkin about. Isn't there a new case that's been milled to use with out a gasket? If so does anyone have a part # for it and where I can get one? Might have my flywheel sent out for balancing too.
