Does anyone have pictures of how they mounted an oil cooler? I have the LRG PS from baker prescision. Just looking for a few ideas. This is for a 35 GTR.

 Re: Oil cooler
The heat coming off the cooler doesn't effect anything?

 Re: Oil cooler
Might be a dumb question but Whats the benifit of having a larger oil cooler than the factory one? Other than just cooling faster..

 Re: Oil cooler
Should add oil capacity too which would lead to longevity I would think

 Re: Oil cooler
I would think(3rd grade hard all 3 times)that anything that would help the engine run a little cooler would help and not hurt anything. IMO

 Re: Oil cooler
I assume added oil capacity and cooler oil by getting it off of block and on the front of the motor.

 Re: Oil cooler
The one on the bottom pic would not cool as well as stock. That's a different type of cooler. Not as efficient. If you were gonna use one of those, it should be used with the stock cooler, not instead of.
The one that's just slightly larger than the stocker from baker precision can be mounted in the stock location. That's how I had them installed on every motor we put them on. Same type of cooler as you have stock, just a little more capacity, and a little more cooling surface. Totally unnecessary, but cheaper than replacing a broken stocker.

 Re: Oil cooler
Would it be better to run the Baker and the stock together? Engine has mikuni, voodoo, delta heads, 310 cam just trying to make it last a few more hours before it goes bang.

 Re: Oil cooler
Lol added oil couldn't be but a few ounces. Your also heating preheating the air that's going to go over/around your heads and intake.

 Re: Oil cooler
Better to run it with the stocker? Yes. Necessary? No.
With the larger one from baker, the lower two holes mounted in the same location as the stocker. You could make a bracket out of aluminum or something for the top two holes, but I never worried about it. Think I put a zip tie around the body and through the blower housing on ours, IIRC.
