GoDevil has a stainless version now for under 200 - same design same performance and sound - but stainless... Or the original is just over 100... |

Click this link... viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5748&p=59768 WestEndAngler did a whole thread on this Marshmellow Exhaust... IMO - the exhaust only adds more noise but not much performance - but if done with some carb changes will help get more from the carb,,, When mine rusts too much - I'm going with the quieter SS stock one from GD made for my 35 GDSD... |

Sounded "nasty". Is that in a good way, or bad? I've heard the crossover and liked the sound, just mainly wondering how the gecker sounds. Hard to tell from the videos posted. |

I have a Gecker exhaust on a pro drive, and I have been very happy with it. Gecker's muffler does not just sound good it helped my bottom end dramatically. I have never run the Marsh Mellow, but I have heard good things about it. |

Used my sound meter to get some readings from the stock and MarshMellow pipes to see what the difference was. All readings on the trailer and +/- 1db as the meter I have is not digital but accurate. 5' from exhaust tip / straight on stock-78db @ 1000 rpms MM-79db @ 1000 rpms Stock-98db @ 4250 rpms MM-98db @ 4250 rpms 3' from exhaust at seat/pod in boat stock-83db @ 1000 rpms MM-82db @ 1000 rpms stock-100db @ 4250 rpms MM-100db @ 4250 rpms I kinda expected the MM to be a little quieter from inside the boat as the tip shoots straight back but it wasn't the case. However it shows that the MM has basically the same noise level as a stock pipe even though to the ear its seems quieter. And is much quieter than the Hopkins I had on it. Anything above 85db is considered damaging. |

Thanks for the information posted about the MM exhaust. It backs up my testing results. I found that the readings from the drivers seat are more motor noise than exhaust noise. I made this monstrosity to get engine noise levels. |

That is six feet of ceramic fiber sound deadening. It was a collection of experimental exhausts that I haven't perfected yet. Very quiet quiet but completely impractical. |

Whatever exhaust you get I would not go with anything else except stainless for salt water. I had a regular GD exhaust on my GD35 and it rusted to crap. Now it was five years old and ran in nothing but salt water four of five times a week during the season, but i cleaned it every time and sprayed it down with corrosion-x. My advice would go stainless on everything, even bolts and washers. And i had a very hard time getting my old exhaust off and broke a couple bolt and had to re-tap the hole. Now after about every two to three uses i am loosening the bolts and tightening them back in to be sure they don't seize up. I also used never seize and haven't had a problem yet |
