So I'm new to the forum and new to MM's as well. So, I'll get right to it. I recently purchased a Grizzly 1654 with a 2010 Mud Buddy 35. I live in NW Florida, the land of sand, and I've taken it out twice now on 2 different rivers. The rivers here are pretty shallow with sandy bottoms full of stumps and dead falls. That's why I thought the shallow water mud motor would be the way to go. But I've found that when I get in the shallows, The prop will catch and start digging itself into river bottom. When this happens the engine bogs way down and even my trim wont pull it up out of the sand unless I put it back in neutral and then trim up. It seems as if when I'm driving along in the boat, that it is trimming down on its own a little at a time until it eventually catches on the bottom. Any suggestions? I'm not sure if it something I'm doing wrong or if its something mechanical... Like I said, I completely new to these types of boats and motors and was just trying to get to some backwater catfish holes. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks fellas.. |
