We now have in stock our new stainless steel intake manifolds for 23 HP and 35 HP Vanguard engines. This new intake manifold is quite a nice piece. All parts are made here in our shop. Flanges are 316 Stainless material machined on our Fadal machining center. Each flange is machined after welding for a flat surface that seals. Intakes are tig welded and pressure tested.

These new intake manifolds provide a performance increase over stock intake manifolds and bolt right on without any adjustments to linkages etc.
Our new intake manifolds work with stock carbs and with Mikuni's by using our Mikuni-to-stock intake-adapter.

For 35 HP engines, we also have in stock the New Flatout intake gaskets that are reusable and seal way better than the stock gaskets. More information will be released on these new gaskets shortly.

Take a look at the pictures. You will like:

Our web site should be updated today with more information.
Thanks

The price is $239 for the complete intake manifold.
On the 23's, you have to cut a little on the inside but not a lot. It goes right on the 35's.
This intake is designed to work with the stock carb or the Mikuni carb.

Thanks

Attached is a photo of the intake installed on a 23 HP Vanguard. From the picture, you can see where the blower housing needed modified to fit the intake. There is really no way around designing it without cutting it. You can see from the photo that it is not much though. It needed cut on the side closest to the bottom of the picture::
This intake makes a ton of torque...

what is the percentage of flow increase / atomization when compared to the stock intake? are they compatible with any aftermarket carbs?

Hey coondick, hope all is well. Call me when you get some time.
The stock intake flows 42.4 CFM with a 57% velocity at .265" lift at 28 inches of mercury. Our stainless intake flows 53.8 CFM with a 74.4% velocity at .265" lift at 28 inches of mercury. The velocity measurements are peak velocities using the probe. With the carb on it separated another 2.2 CFM between the two so it is even better. All measurements are with stock heads with stock sized valves. This is using a computerized SF-60 Flow station that we use for everything else. The swirls are remarkably better but I really don't believe swirl numbers. I am really impressed with the velocitys though. That is a big difference in charge affect at the valve.

The intake will work with stock carbs and Mikunis with the adapter.

What about the fuel pump on the newer marine grade engines? It needs a port for the fuel pump.

thanks

What size are the intake pipes? They look huge.

Chris, for a few extra bucks, we can mount a pulse fitting in the intake if you need. You can also pulse the pump off of one of the two valve covers, the crank case cover and the top of the block. Either or any on will work. We have pulse fittings in stock. If you want to do it your self, you would drill a hole with the letter "Q" drill bit. Then, use a 1/8 NPT pipe thread tap and run her in there about 3/4 the way with grease on it to get the chips. Back it out, screw in your pulse fitting and run your line to the pump. No big deal. We have the pulse fitting in stock all of the time.

binglis74, thanks for the nice comments. Same to you Quackkiller.

Jpeater, they really are not that big. They are sized right to keep the velocity up with good CFM improvement.

By the way, we have Mikuni's and Mikuni adapters to stock intakes in stock. Hopefully the site will be updated today. Kim has been busy and has not got to it yet.
Thanks

What about the mountings for the cowling and airflow shields (flat areas on the ends of the stock intake)- are there brackets that come with it?
