Just added mikuni carb, heads, cam, roller rockers, and gutted exhaust, have trouble with the motor cutting out at 3200 to 3300. Running 167.5 main jet 30 pilot. Motor will hit 4700 no problem out of the water and in water cuts out. Anybody have any idea what could be causing this?

Make sure both cylinders are getting good spark and she isn't running on 1 cylinder.

I did forget to mention it has brand new coils, I changed them to be able to rule out ignition problems.

It did flood through the overflow tube earlier so I'm thinking it's got something to do with the float or needle and seat

Did you gap the coils correctly?

Well I would assume they were since it ran good up until I had everything added

What is the recommended gap to run? I mean the one coils were at .010 that's what I put them back on at

Briggs spec is .005 gap. But if you are at .010 i doubt its your problem

First of all 30 pilot Is a lot. 25-27.5 is a good start, But that is irrelevant to the current situation. Cutting out as in electrical spark stopping, or a fuel/air delivery issue? What needle and seat you have installed? If its not a 2.3 you will flood the carb.

I have not checked the needle and seat. I bought the kit from the boat dr. As far as the cutting out once I hit 3200 to 3300 rpm it's like it's bouncing off of the rev limiter.

Personally I'm wondering if the needle is sticking
