I have a 35 gatortail, the oil filter side exhaust is not as hot as the starter side. I have spark on both sides. I can't figure this thing out.

Is it missing or running bad? Possibilities are dirty carb, vacuum leak, leaking valves, popped headgasket, flat cam, etc. we need more info man :D

Talked to tchauvin earlier, about it. My buddy and I checked compression and leak down and compression is at 190 and no leak down. It has fire on both sides, has fresh heads and new pistons, rings and all new gaskets. At idle the #1 cyl i can't touch the exhaust where it comes out the head, on the #2 side i can touch it, its hot but not as hot as the #1. Im going to pick up a new set of plugs also.

So the wet plug side is running rich and colder at idle.. stock carb where you can tune it out or mikuni?

#2 cylinder has a richer main jet due to the longer intake runner, Idle speed jests are the same.. Now... I have seen wet is looking plugs on the #2 before. I pulled the carb and found a slither of metal inside a jet. So it was inconsistent flow then probably flooding at times at idle. Clean carb, replace plugs with rc12yc.

Ok.... finally had time to pull the carb. One of the adjustment screws is broken off. My question is, if I can drill it out and find a replacement screw? Or I think I found another carb, are all 35 carbs the same? I have a non cdi.

When I broke one off I was able to slot the piece left in the carb and back it out with a screw driver. Replacement screws can be ordered. Someone on here might have one they'll send you (thats how I got my replacement)

Carbs should be the same across the 35s.

I have a small punch.. that I filed into a sharp screwdriver flathead shape... Tap it into the brass screw and back it out..
