Running lease building blinds crossing bay motor started making a squealing noise then the sound of shit coming apart. Pucker factter shutdown and WTF all at the same time. The wire mesh guard that spins on front fan cut the air dam ring off of the cowling and bing bam boom that’s when things broke. So I could use parts as listed 1 cowling 35 hp vanguard efi 1 fan from same motor size nocked a tooth off mine. I live in Metairie la. P. M. If u have parts to sell thanks. |

we've run a fan for quite a few hours missing 4 teeth. cut the one opposite off so it's still balanced, it'll be fine. that wire mesh (grass screen) doesn't need to be there. cut the extended studs off so they're just a normal bolt. no need for that screen. #CFFITR #TheGhostBoat #whoneedsphysicsihaveamudmotor |

That was my plan if I can’t find the parts. The studs snapped at the crank face. What worry’s me is that the ring that made into the cowling was cut out. It keeps air from blowing out of the face of the motor. |

To be honest, I think these manufactures should remove those damn screens right at the factory. They are not need in the application these motors are being used. Don't feel like the lone ranger, i've fixed a bunch of them for people. Every motor I work on that has them I ask the customer if they would like to have them removed. Once I tell them what WILL happen when those studs break, 95% of them tell me "yes remove it". The cost comparison of me removing the screen and shortening the bolt heads is minimal, compared to what it cost to replace everything that breaks. You can order parts from Jacks whole sale parts, I know they have them in stock, or from a local Briggs repair shop. |

After removing all the crap that you don’t need. It’s about 2 pounds of unbalanced weight spinning on the motor crankshaft. How much hp dose it rob plus stress on the motor. Glad it gone. |
