Post replacement engine for prodrive
Has anyone ever replaced an engine on their prodrive?
I was thinking of replacing my blown 27 with a 36hp.
Is it even possible?

Call PD.........and save your lunch money... :D

Or just buy used 36 for $5K and sell your L/U.

Good luck my friend.

I replaced the a powerhead on a 35 gdsd and I believe it was about 2k. That was for everything though...muffler, air filter, etc, complete powerhead. Just call KP and talk it over with him.

I talked to kp the other day about swapping powerheads between my 32 and 27. He said its very simple, same mounting bracket and everything. Just four bolts and the engine lifts right off, set the other one its place. Don't know on the 36, but would assume they're all the same. Just give them a call, they're very helpfull.

Post Re: replacement engine for prodrive
Hey guys. I was actually thinking of doing the same thing to my GD35. Instead of spending 5500 on a new motor and lower unit, I figured i could spend 2500 and do it myself. Also is it special marine engine, or would a regular horizontal from northern tool work? Could this be done as an in-house project or should I let a mechanic do it. Figured it would be a fun project.

Also I'm kinda new to this sight and still figuring out the lingo. Who is KP and Peck. This is a pro drive thread so are they pro drive people??
Thanks

call around to Gecker, EVT, BPS and find out where they get motors from.

THEY WILL KNOW THE BEST PLACE TO GET REPLACEMENT MOTORS...
