I am looking into buying one with 300 hours. Should I have any concerns with this motor? |

I would see how it was maintained, and by who. Then do a leak down test on it, look at belt, check grease in drive, and bearings, condition of prop. See if crank case gasket has been replaced and if there is any missing bolts. Look close at block for hair line cracks. See if trim unit has been replaced. If everything checks out OK take it for a test run. |

I will put money on the intake valves leaking, The intake valve severely overhanging the valve seat, and the port work to be minimal. Iron mountain heads do have large intake valves but they don't do seat work to make that valve match the seat. they sea in the inner side of the valve 45* so the remainder just overhangs actually shrouding or impeding the flow of the incoming charge of fuel and air. |
