35 GDSD Issue??
Hey guys, few questions
Have been running my 35 GDSD for awhile with no issues. About a month ago, I was running wide open or nearly wide open and the engine would die. Choke it and it would start right up. No big deal, cleaned the carb and did see something tiny in the jets i believe. Ran it again and ran great. Well same issue occured today. Usually i could just run at 60-70% throttle and it would be ok. However, it began to just run on one cylinder after it died at one point. I could get it to idle on both cylinders to limp in. Pulled the carb again today, it looked clean but went ahead and cleaned it with carb cleaner. Also completely replaced the fuel line and filter and cleaned the tank. Also replaced the spark plugs, they looked a charred from running lean. Have not put it back together to try it out as i need to order some gaskets.... Also went ahead and checked valve lash, was good. As is the compression. Oil was just changed recently.
Im just wondering if there could be any other underlying problem? Figured I would ask some more experienced people.
Anyone have a good place to order a carb gasket set?

Re: 35 GDSD Issue??
What year is the motor? Vented gas tank? Bad gas? Does it have the little electric fluid solenoid on the carb? If so, pull it out, and put a bolt in its place.

2006 i believe.
Tank is vented. I dont think the gas was bad. However I drained the tank for the next time out.

I would replace the fuel line on the fuel pump also. It gets old and comes apart. When doin this leave the line long that goes to carb. Aim it away from motor , spin motor and make sure your getting good fuel flow. This will also make sure the cam isn't flat and pump is pumpin

Re: 35 GDSD Issue??
Sounds fuel feed related, sounds like your gettin good fuel to carb also. Were you able to get the needle out of carb? Make sure there is not a piece of rubber hiding in there blocking the flow. Also I like to lightly ream the jets to remove any crust that may be in them making them smaller even if you can't see it. Also note the main jets are 2 different sizes. The bigger size goes into the cyl 2 side of the carb

You mean the float needle right? I don’t think I pulled that out.
