36 PD starter replacement
My starter has been in and out for a little while and finally shit the bed on me last night. I was looking at replacing with a stock briggs and its gonna be about $270. If in gonna spend that money i want to get the best option. I have heard of people using different starters on mud motors like GM or ford starters. Has anyone done it and what are the pros/cons?

Not sure where you heard about the use of gm or Ford starters. This site has kind of been a haven for trying it all, never seen that pop up here.

See what an auto electric shop will charge you to rebuild your old one and shop ebay or amazon for a replacement starter. I found one for my 25 Kohler for a little over $50.00
