Has anyone attempted to use one of these knock off mikuni carbs called Maikuni??? They're on Alibaba for around $30. It comes with jets it looks like and comes in multiple sizes.

I'm no carb guru, but you get what you pay for....

And I'm not willing to spend a night or 2 in freezing temps in my boat, in the marsh, cause I bought a $30 carb, instead of something reliable.

I agree don't skimp where it could strand you. If you want to test and have a spare to swap back if it fails, then I would say yes.

Go for it, and then after 30 hrs let us know how it turns out. I’m curious.

That looks more like a keihin d slide than a mikuni flat slide. Might have to get one just to see......

I was thinking why not try it before duck season starts. It was delivered today. Just gotta get an intake adapter and rubber flange and figure out the throttle cable situation once it's mounted. Anyone know what cable I might need? It's going on my 23 vanny longtail. Anything else I need??

Opened the box and everything looks pretty sturdy and well built. We'll see how it performs. It's definitely a keihin d-slide copy, not a flat slide. From what I've read keihin and mikuni have comparable performance. Anyone out there with advice on d-slide carbs on a 23 van?

Update: got the new carb hooked up. Got a Pvt adapter and bps throttle cable. This carb seriously woke up my old 23hp. The throttle response is almost too fast and I gained 4 mph top end. Excuse my goofy filter setup. The bps governor block was in the way if the filter I had on hand but I'm happy with the results for now. Might go down one jet size because it sounds a hair loaded at full throttle. Feels like I gained 10hp though. I know the stock cam can't do much for me over 3800 rpm so that's next. Before I was getting 16mph empty now almost 20 no problem (1438 Jon boat). We'll see how she does with a hunt load.
