Anyone running a new GTR 40XD L3? Just finished up my build and picked it up but haven't had a chance to run it yet.. Was curious to see what kind of speeds were being put down/best prop options.. |

Going to go run it in this afternoon and see what kind of numbers it puts up.. Have a worked big blade coming from baggy that should be here in the next week or two. Dyno sheet has it at 60.46 HP @ 5200 rpms, so i'm hoping it can hit around 40 unloaded.. |

Finally able to get back on and post an update from running last week.. Saw speeds in the 36-37 range with just myself, dog and 12 gallons of gas.. Motor has a ton of power/torque. Boat would jump up and run as soon as you smashed the throttle, but would porpoise on me at high speed. I would run 36-37 at pretty much 1/2 throttle, which still left me a ton of play but it wouldn't go any faster regardless of 1/2 or full throttle. Going to mess with it some more and put a couple of 1/8"-1/4" bends in the "tab" on the back which should fix the porpoising issue. Got up with Calen this week and am swapping him my stock 3-blade for another, which he said should help me gain another 1-2 mph. He also called Baggy on my behalf who has a big blade for me and gave him some direction on what to work this big blade to. Basically going to play the prop game at this point and get this thing dialed in. I think speeds in the 40+ range are attainable with the right prop.. |

Yeah you should definitely get those speeds with the right prop and with bending those tabs a bit bro |

Look on the FB pages about cutting the skeg. I have no experience with it but there are a lot of people who have done and are saying there’s more gains to be made by doing it |
