Replacing 35 Vanguard with a 40 on same GT Platform?
I'm sure this has probably been posted somewhere, so if you could redirect me to that I'd appreciate it, but my question is:
Can you put a new 40hp Vanguard motor on an older 35hp GT platform? My 35 is getting a little old, so instead of buying a whole new setup, I'd rather just get a new motor only since the platform is in good shape. The Vangaurd model I have is 613477 Type 0157-E1. Thanks for any help.

Is the same block, so yes you can just put a 40 on your frame that originally had a 35 big block

I just did the same swap on my 2013 gtr tiller steer frame. what year is your gtr? Your going to have to change some wiring around to get everything working. Very easy to do with the right guidance.
