I recently had a new 35 horsepower Vanguard put on my mud buddy frame. They told me the idle would need some adjustments during break in. I have about 2 hours on it and I know the idle needs a bit of adjustment. Could anything else needed adjustment. It wants to stall a fair amount even when warm. It Puffs black smoke whenever you first start it. And once after running for awhile it backfired out the air filter and smelled like fuel. |

Seemed to run much better today for opener. Maybe it was finicky yesterday as part of the early break in period. |

After a few hours it's good to set the valves. The carb can also get the idle fuel limiters trimmed off and set correctly |
