Post subject:  Brand New motor won't run;
Just picked up my prodigy elite a couple of weeks ago with a mud buddy 40 Efi anniversary edition and got a chance to take her out today. I went and filled her up with fuel and Got everything prepped. I decide maybe I should crank it once before I get to the ramp an sure enough she wouldn't run. I have cranked it twice in the garage without issue. Now when I turn the key the red engine light comes on. After several attempts of it not staying on I started looking around. There was painters tape from where they pained the motor over the fuel filter container I peeled it off and no fuel. I'm guessing there was some in there or finally and it ran it all off now it won't even run a short time and now fuel is coming from the tank. Anyone have any ideas?

Is there a bulb in the fuel line somewhere?

Did you hear the fuel pump kick on when you turn the key on? Do that several times until it pumps fuel into the filter.

Make sure your gas cap is loose too

I purchased a 37 Hp for a different application brand new from the factory and it had 2 bad coils. warranty covered everything.... just my 2 csnts
