I am very new to surface drives, so any help is greatly appreciated. Can you please explain how to use a surface drive from the beginning to the end? I have a 1548 G3 hull and a 25HP Mudbuddy Mini. I am able to get on plane with myself and one other in the boat but any time I or put any gear in the boat it boggs down. Is my hull too heavy for the engine to push? Am I not trimming properly? I just purchased a new prop so that's hopefully out of the question. |

First the engine should pass a health check. Yes it's possible with your setup that you may find the limit of power easily. The prop to run should be an 11x10 I believe. Make sure you don't have a tall transom motor on a short transom boat also |

I discovered I have a short transom motor on a tall transom boat. Would that be why I'm having issues? |

Its definitely not helping anything. I can't say that correcting it will make it do the job though |

That’s a baby sized motor on a not right hull. Not sure what you expected. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
