Post GTR 35 Weak Reverse Problem
I have been having problems with my Reverse. I engage it in deep water ,and it doesn't seem strong enough to move me at all in the reverse direction. Is the reverse feature only optimized for running in mud, or should I be able to run in the reverse direction??

It just seems that it has very little torque in reverse??

Thanks for the help!

Hey Gundog, first check and make sure that you have full level of fluid in reservoir. Then when reversing, you need to make sure that you are squeezing and holding the reverse lever tight. I notice on mine that if I squeeze to stopping point and then reverse, then you still get a little slippage. Think of it as stopping a car with disc brakes. A slight pedal pressure will slow you down, but the harder you press on the pedal, the faster it stops. Same principal on the reverse lever. Hope that helps.

You shouldn't have an issue... if your trimmed all the way up in deep water you'll never gain any momentum in reverse. Try trimming down more 1/2 way and putting it in reverse... might have to do a double pump on the reverse lever. Ace posted some good info too as I was writing this.

You are using throttle when in reverse right?
