First valve check, how many hours?

 First valve check, how many hours? Got a 40 vanguard efi, I’ve searched around, but can’t find when the valves need to be checked? I’m getting close to the 15 hour mark. A buddy told me 20 hours, dealer said 60-70.
Anything set in stone?

Re: First valve check, how many hours? Just cause it's a 40 I would set them. Some came from the factory very loose. After the first round I wouldn't sweat it for quite a while

Re: First valve check, how many hours? I've had to adj mine 3 or 4 times now and only have 130hrs or so on my 40. every oil change seems about right!
